This 14.5-hour continuing education course teaches practitioners the use the Sanskrit names of asana, mantra and chants for a yoga class. We will introduce the Sanskrit alphabet, chanting both in Vedic form, a tool for mantra and kirtan. We will use chanting in asana movement and as a tool to practice pranayama. We will practice familiar mantra, study the Gods and Goddesses, and delve into the purpose and goal of the chants.
The course objective is to teach practitioners how to use mantra and chants as a component of yoga classes. Many people involved with yoga love chanting. We will practice familiar mantras and Vedic Chanting, and study the Gods and Goddesses and the purpose and goal of the chants.
The workshop will be an opportunity to explore the Sanskrit alphabet, learn basic chants and share the stories inspiring the chant, explore the basics of vedic chanting and use chanting as a foundation of meditation.
